Beyond the Screen
I've been actively involved in organising and co-hosting design-focused community events in Dubai, including DDX and Friends of Figma, since 2024. It's is something that truly brings me joy, being in the room with fellow designers, learning from design experts across the region and beyond, and playing a small part in supporting the next generation of designers.
Organizer at Friends of Figma Dubai
I found Friends of Figma Dubai when I was new to the city, and soon enough I volunteered to be an organising member. Since then I've helped plan and host events that bring the UAE design community together, including a Figma Config launch party with over 150 attendees, and a series of sessions where design leaders from across the region share their experience with designers who are earlier in their journey.
None of us get paid for it, there's no sponsorship behind it. We do it because we genuinely believe the community is worth showing up for.
Organizer & Moderator at DDX, Dubai
The DDX (Digital Innovation & UX) Conference is a global summit for experience design professionals, which takes places in multiple cities across the globe, such as Munich, Tokyo, California & Dubai. I have been volunteering with them for 2 years in a row. In 2026, I had the opportunity to moderate a panel of design leaders & educators. I find great pleasure in being a part of something so impactful and community driven.
